1894 stampless envelope from London Post Office addressed ‘Bulletin de Verification/ pour/ “Tahiti”, red oval despatch date stamp, San Francisco transit registration label top left, reverse with New York transit and Papeete arrival backstamp. Fine and unusual.
1897 (21 June) incoming unfranked opened-out envelope from Caulnes, Cotes du Nord via Paris addressed to a prisoner at “Ile desPins”taxed on arrival with 50c. Postage Due tied arrival cds with Noumea cds alongside. The prison was closed at this date and envelope bears blue manuscript “Ferme”. Fine and scarce with Roumet certificate (2012). Ex. Grabowski.

1903 picture postcard of Milwaukee, sent from there to Angra, Azores with faint despatch, also showing Libreville Congo Francaise transits, French maritime Loango A Marseille L.M. No.2 date stamp and unclearly dated Accra Gold Coast cds, plus arrival cds. An unusual routing.
1905 and 1904 printed matter rate items. 1904 unsealed envelope from Noumea at a double rate. Unlikely as so small, sent to UK endorsed “please forward” and then to USA plus 1904 printed matter wrapper for the Tribunal de Commerce de Noumea at triple rate which is possible if at the top of a bundle, or it also contained a written enclosure and travelled at 15c. French Community rate.
