1859 (April 15) envelope from London to Nassau, Bahamas, addressed to a Lieut. MacKenzie, 1st W.I. Regt and franked at 6d. military post rate with 1855-57 issue tied by heavy barred cancel, annotated “Via Liverpool & New York”, reverse with blue undated Hyde Park cds.
1860 (March 17) newspaper rate wrapper from Nassau to Washington D.C. franked Great Britain perf 14 1d,, GL tied by ‘A05’ obliterator in black with double arc BAHAMAS on reverse, signed at top by ex-President “Franklin Pierce” for free franking privilege within the U.S.A. Crayon ‘2’ (cents) presumably not collected in deference to the es President (1853-57). A very rare rate and stamp used on an historic cover. Fragile state with some splitting. BPA Cert (1993). 1870 manilla envelope to Belize, British Honduras endorsed “Via New York”, franked 4d. tied numeral obliterator, at left semi circular framed MISSENT TO NEW YORK and at centre two-line RETURNED FOR/POSTAGE, reverse with Bahamas despatch; a striking cover.

1876 'Royal Victoria Hotel, Nassau' printed illustrated envelope to New York franked 4d. 'chalon' tied cds, straight-line 'Due 3' handstamp alongside. The envelope slightly reduced at side but still a fine early advertising cover
1883 cover to Buffalo, NY, redirected to New Haven bearing single-franking Watermark Crown CA, perf 12 4d. tied by ‘B’ obliterator, this being oversturck by Buffalo cork duplex, reverse with A/Bahamas cds, New York transit, Buffalo transit and arrival cds. The stamp has rounded bottom right corner and envelope a little roughly opened on reverse. Including the letter written on Dec 23rd from Royal Victoria Hotel.
1885 (JA 20) 'Penny Halfpenny' stationery card to Dublin, Ireland cancelled by fine 'B' obliterator, Bahamas cds far left, fine rare New York/ Havana Transit 'opera glasses' transit, arrival cds; heavy central vertical crease, some adherence on reverse.
1889 (AU 30) On Her Majesty’s Service’ registered cover to Heidelberg, Germany franked 1863-80 6d. deep violet and 1882 perf 12 4d. cancelled ‘B’ obliterator, Registered Nassau cds in association, London transit additionally tying 4d. and arrival backstamp. B.P.A. Certificate (1965).
1897 (MR 2) registered cover to Leicester, England bearing single franking 1898 1s. blue-green, wmk Crown CA, cancelled by ‘A05’ obliterator, fine red Registered Nassau and oval framed ‘R’, hooded London transit bottom right, arrival backstamp; fine example of quadruple rate, ex Davis.
1914 (6 Aug) 1d. postal stationery card registered to Hannover additionally franked ½d. (2) and 1d. tied Nassau cds, manuscript registration and ‘R’ handstamp, oval New York transits front and back, arrival cds towards bottom left; fine condition.
1918 (May 4) cover to Nassau, Bahamas franked 3c. Washington tied Saint Louis duplex, bottom left three-line MISSENT TO/ JOHNSTON BRANCH/ JACKSONVILLE FLA in violet, eventually arriving in Nassau on 13th May, where Special Delivery 5d. stamp applied.
1926 (20 JY) registered picture postcard ‘Hotel New Colonial’ of Nassau to Sweden franked 1920 ‘Peace’ 2d. and 3d. tied Nassau cds, registration label over despatch cancel but tied oval New York transit, with another strike tying 2d., unclear arrival cancel at base.
