1877 (MY 12) cover to New York franked 1867-76 4d. orange (SG 11) tied by ‘A09’ obliterators with Nevis cds in association at left, New York Dur 5 Cts date stamp alongside stamp, reverse with transit cds of St Thomas of MY 14; fine and attractive.
1883 (MR 13) small envelope to Hull bearing horizontal strip of four 1d. lilac-mauve plus one overprinted REVENUE tied by blurred ‘A09’ obliterators with Nevis despatch cds, arrival backstamp. An attractive and scarce mixed issue usage. Ex Besancon.
1885 (JU 11) registered cover to London franked 6d. green and two ‘Four Pence’ on 6d. (showing different position of surcharges) cancelled by ‘A12’ obliterators, St Kitts cds in association and London arrival. The 1/- 2d. used paying 1/- treble letter rate plus 2d. registration. Glue staining around one stamp and slight faults to envelope.
1886 (JY 22) registred cover to London franked 'One Penny' on 6d. (10) and '4d' on 6d. (4) each tied by 'A21' obliterator, St Kitts cds and framed R, London registered date stamps also on front. This 1/10d. pays the registered overseas rate for under 2.5 oz. Possibly largest known usage with these stamps; some slight faults as usual with a larger cover.
1929 (10 MY) registered cover to Oakland, CA, USA bearing mixed franking Leeward Islands 2 ½d. orange-yellow and St Kitts-Nevis 1920-22 1 ½d. orange-yellow and 1921-29 1½d. red-brown ‘Columbus’ tied ‘409’ Nevis duplex, New York and arrival backstamps. The Leeward Island 2 ½d orange-yellow is rare on cover.
