1891 3 Halfpence stationery card to Konigsberg cancelled by Post Office Manoh Salijah Sierra Leone date stamp, Freetown transit below, with full message.

1894 cover to London franked 2½d. ultramarine that remained uncancelled until Dover where Great Britain 1881 1d. lilac applied and both tied by two Dover Station Office ‘258’ duplex of AP 25, arriving in London the same day.

1895 One Penny postal stationery card to Tring, bearing barred numeral cancel and red 'FREETOWN/SIERRA LEONE' cds at left as well as 'PAID/LIVERPOOL/BR PACKET' transit date stamp; fine and clean condition.

1895 registered cover to London franked 1d.(2) and 2 1/2d.tied numeral obliterators, 'R' handstamp, Freetown cds, Registered Liverpool and London cancels all on front,nothing on reverse. The 2 1/2d. stamp has some surface damage that occurred before application to envelope.

1898 cover to Manchester endorse "S.S Congo" franked 2½d tied 'FREETOWN' cds, small straight-line 'LATE' handstamp, at left red 'PAID/LIVERPOOL/BR PACKET' cds; arrival backstamp.

1903 KEVII 2d registered postal stationery envelope to London up-rated Queen Victoria ½d (2) and King Edward VII 1d (2) tied registered date stamps, arrival backstamp; opened out for display.

1924 (29 OC) registered cover to Bournemouth franked ½d., 1½d. and 3d. tied oval REGISTERED date stamps, registration handstamp bottom left and to left of 3d. ‘LATE’ handstamp, ‘International Exchange’ vignette tied on reverse by arrival cancel; small mounting fault on reverse.


1930 registered picture postcard of ‘Law Courts, Freetown’ to Edmonton, Canada franked two 4d. on front tied oval registered date stamps, registration handstamp on reverse together with arrival cds.

SIERRA LEONE: 1877 (21 July): Mourning envelope to Liverpool, franked with pair 1873 3 d. saffron-yellow tied by 'B31' obliterator, reverse with "PAID AT SIERRA LEONE" double arc despatch datestamp in red, PAID LIVERPOOL BR PACKET” datestamp (Aug 8) in red on front. SIERRA LEONE: 1890 (May) Envelope originating in Benin with violet cachet Etablissements Francais du Golfe de Benin on backflap, franked 1884-91 Sierra Leone 1 1/2d. + 3d. cancelled B31, Freetown c.d.s. and Paid Liverpool Br. Packet in red alongside, addressed to France with TPO on front, Paris arrival backstamp, small paper loss at left and some light staining. Envelope’s right-hand side is also opened. Rare.


SIERRA LEONE: 1927 (JU 21) 3d registered envelope franked on obverse 1924 1d. violet with PUJEHUN cds and matching large boxed registration cachet alongside addressed internally to Freetown with oval Registered Sierra Leone 24 JU backstamp, slightly roughly opened.
