1608 (pencil dated) outer letter sheet, honorific addressed cover to Itzehoe, Schleswig Holstein, addressed to the Burgermeister and councillor of Itzehoe with manuscript below “Belanget die schuster (Cobblers) und tuffelmacher von Stade”. Reverse with large seal with date at base 1590. One side flap missing not distracting from a fine early cover.
1849 outer letter sheet to Finland sent unpaid via Hamburg, showing various manuscript rate markings and a framed Obetalt.FR./ Dannemark/ H.Borg 17 Aug 49 handstamp, reverse with Copenhagen despatch and Stockholm transit; fine condition.
1854 local Copenhagen outer letter sheet bearing 1852 2s blue Thiele print, large even margins on all sides, plate 1, No. 57 type I, tied by clear three-ring ‘1’ numeral and bluish ‘F 1 7/2 54 P’ handstamp alongside. A very fine example with Kaiser and Nielsen certificates.
1865 cover to London franked 1855 2s. blue in horizontal strip of three and 1858 8s gree in horizontal strip of three, each stamp cancelled by ’51’ three-ring numeral, Odense cds in association, red P.D. and arrival cds. A beautiful 30s. rated cover to London, the finest from this correspondence with each strip good to large margins. Moller Certificate.
1867 (20/7) outer letter sheet to London bearing mixed issue franking 1858-62 8s. green and 1864-68 3s. pair tied by two ‘181’ Sjaell P.B. duplex, London arrival cds to left. The 8s with close to large margins, a fine cover.
1868 (26/6) envelope to Poste Restante, Montreux, Switzerland franked 1854-57 Dotting in Spandrels 8s. green (four margins but damaged top right corner) together with 1864-68 3s. red violet (3) tied by four fine three-ring ‘17’ numerals and Frederica cds in association, redirected on arrival to Belaggio, Lake Como, Italy with a wide variety of backstamps.
1869 cover to Poste Restante, Interlaken, Switzerland franked Arms perf 13 x 12½ 2s. (4th printing), 3s. (2nd printing) and 8s. (1st printing) at correct 13s. rate tied by ‘25’ three-ring numerals with Horsholm cds in association at base, manuscript “2” crossed out in blue crayon and “1 wf” added, reverse with N.SJ.JB.P.B. datestamp, three-line Kiel/ Hamburg tpo and arrival cancels. 1870s cover to Ringsted bearing mixed issue franking 1858-62 8s (2, one with only three margins) plus 1864-68 3s. vertical pair, each cancelled by three-ring'78' numeral, Nordingborg despatch cds in association below, at top left framed 'Talt' handstamp, three fine black wax seals on reverse.
1872 (28/6) outer letter sheet from Copenhagen to Landskrona, Sweden franked by pair 1871 3sk lilac and grey, perf 14 x 13½, only cancelled on arrival; very fine quality with Lasse Nielsen Certificate.
1876 & 1878 Entires to Bordeaux from Copenhagen franked 20ore with normal & inverted frames respectively. Both bear blue French entry cds for Erquelines.
1878 (21/3) cover to Switzerland franked 2s., 3s. and 8s. each cancelled by ‘1’ three ring numerals, Kjobenhavn cds in association, reverse with Kiel/Hamburg tpo and Swiss arrival cancels; repaired tear in backflap, clean condition.
