1854 cover to Limerick, Ireland, carried privately from Widdin, Bulgaria and put into the Austrian Post Office at Belgrade, Serbia, with two-line Belgrad date stamp, various manuscript markings on front, reverse with Semlin transit, London and Liverpool transits and Limerick arrival cds. Disinfected at Semlin with good strike, albeit overstruck with Netto Di Fuora E Sporco Di Dentro.Fine and rare cover, F. Puschmann certificate.
1869 Officer’s Letter to Dublin, Ireland franked with Great Britain 1858-79 1d red, plate 71, HA-HB, IA-IB, GA and GB tied by six ‘466’ obliterators applied at Liverpool, endorsed “No 15/ Officers Letter/ HMS Jaseur”, Liverpool Paid cds, part of reverse of envelope missing but still showing note “send me some stamps/ mine are all gone”. Despite the fault a fine looking, rare item, ex Sacher.
1885 (JA 20) 'Penny Halfpenny' stationery card to Dublin, Ireland cancelled by fine 'B' obliterator, Bahamas cds far left, fine rare New York/ Havana Transit 'opera glasses' transit, arrival cds; heavy central vertical crease, some adherence on reverse.
1947 ‘United States Line’ printed envelope to Vienna franked Irish 2½d. tied by Cork date stamp, undefranked and bearing a charge hand stamp for 34 groschen, the cancels on the postage dues are not clear but it does appear as if the charge has been raised three different times including a mixed franking of 1946 and 1947 issues.
