1904 (21.1.) 5p postal stationery reply card to Mwaya (Muaja) before the opening of the local post office, regarding a Lloyd agency from Chinde, Mozambique, unnecessarily additionally franked with 25r of Portuguese Zambezia, tied single Deutsche Seepost Ostafrika Linie p cds, Tanga transit of 9/3, Dar es Salaam 11.3 and Langenburg cds of 11/4. The reverse with a Fort Johnson, Nyasaland transit that must have been applied on the outward journey. The lengthy delay in forwarding from Tanga remains unexplained. Fine and unusual, rare reply card.
1906 picture postcard from Vienna addressed to Bagamojo Kilwa, showing central arrival cancel, redirected then to Ibo Nyassa with Dar-Es-Salaam transit to right and final arrival to left; top right stamp with corner fault otherwise fine and attractive.
1908 commercial envelope from a E. Oldenburg at Ibo (Nyasa) to Hamburg, endorsed “via Daressalaam/ & Neapel”. The envelope has been carried by a coastal mail paquebot to Dar Es Salaam where the 10pf Germania has been tied by unclear DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/OST-/AFRIKA-/ LINIE q date stamp and overstruck on arrival ‘Deutsche Schutzgebiet’ handstamp.

1916 (4.3.) commercial envelope from USAMBARA MAGAZIN GmbH to Kihuhui (on the Zigi river), stampless with violet two-line Frankiert/ mit 7 ½ H handstamp and oval Kaiserlich Deutsches Postamt TANGA handstamp with cds to left, reverse with faint Tabora cds of unclear date; vertical filing crease not unduly detracting from an internal cover to a small outpost.
1919 3c. postal stationery card, uprated 3c. to Germany with unclear dispatch cds, Tanga transit alongside,senders address as Wuga, near Wilhelmstal, straight-line OPENED BY CENSOR at centre. The message starts "We are sorry that we got no letter from you for many days, so I write again in English...."
1919 cover to “Banque du Congo Belge” bearing mixed franked India I.E.F. 2a. and G.E.A. overprinted 3c, the use of I.E.F. stamps were allowed in 1919, 2 annas was equivalent to 12 cents, thus 15c. foreign rate, Kigoma belonged to Belgian Congo until 22/3/21. The stamps cancelled by manuscript “Tabora”, reverse with Kigoma arrival cds; fine and unusual.
