1935 (23.IX.) incoming unfranked cover from Kuopio, Finland to Tunis endorsed Express under despatch cancel, framed ‘T’ handstamp and blue crayon “41 2/3c” , a 1923-29 3f. violet/rose postage due applied and tied by machine cancel, but the charge was refused and stamp with green crayon cross, address similarly erased and thee-line handstamp TUNIS/ RETOUR/ A L’ENVOYEUR front and back. Small tear at top of envelope.
1952 (26.8.) incoming airmail cover from Pondicherry, India under-franked at 10a rate so large circular framed ‘T’ handstamp applied with manuscript “32c” alongside and franked 1923-29 5f. violet and 1945-50 30f. blue tied by Tunis Arrivee cds
1965 and 1966 Birds sets of four with 59 imperf colour progressive proofs on Courvoisier archive pages, dated 1964, some duplication to fill pages maybe. These pages are unique as are the stamps.
1968 and 1969 Fauna sets in 79 progressive, finished and rejected imperf proofs on Courvoisier archival pages with 1968 5m Golden Jackal, 8m. Crested Porcupine including two groups of five in final unissued colour, 20m Fennex Fox with two sets, the first with brighter yellow rejected plus 60m. Wild Boar with unissued colour. 1969 set with 10m. Dromedary Camel, 40m Horse, 15m Dorcas Gazelle with two unissued colours and two sets of 25m Hedgehog. The unissued colour group have been erased with red line, the colour differences are generally quite minimal. A unique item.
1992 Birds set of four and miniature sheet in progressive and finished imperf proofs ex Courvoisier archive with four single colour proofs and the finished proof with all colours for both stamp set and miniature sheet, the sheet though with six different colours. A fine and unique assembly stuck down on the company’s archive pages.
