(Sardinia) 1862 (12 Mai) outer letter sheet to Lagos bearing single franking 80c. orange-yellow (Sa 17C) showing two large margins, left side touched and cut into at top left corner, cancelled by Genova cds, repeated to right, small red unframed ‘P.P.’, red London Paid transit of MY 14. Without further cancels, a little ink erosion around ‘L’ of ‘Lagos’ not detracting from good appearance to a most unusual destination.

1858 entire from Lagos to Genova, Italy bearing framed PACKET LETTER handstamp, framed G.B./ 1f60c accountancy, Angl Amb. Calais French entry cds and '10' decimes rating handstamp, reverse with London and Paris transits and red framed Genoa arrival; light filing crease otherwise fine and unusual.
1907 (SP 6) registered printed cover from Sapele (Southern Nigeria) to Banbury, Ackerman correspondence, franked at 3d. rate by 1904-06 1d. and d. tied by Registered/ Sapele oval with another fine strike at left, red manuscript endorsements “to be registered” , “per S.S. Falaba” and “Urgen(t)ly”, Plymouth registration label applied on arrival in England. Some slight faults, a desirable example of the continuing use of Lagos stamps, 19 months after Lagos had been incorporated into Southern Nigeria.
