The 4d. brown in bottom left corner has been previously used, the postal fraud went unnoticed.

Long printed contents detailing charges and services. Addressed to Melbourne, Australia with Durban cds, selvedge missing at left and largely detached at right.

1883 (26 JY) underfranked cover to Natal, South Africa franked 1880-83 ‘3d’ on 3d., OK and 1880-81 2d. deep rose tied by two London G.W cds, blue manuscript “3” below surcharge stamp and ‘3d’ charge handstamp below this, to left of stamps large circular framed ‘7d’, arrival backstamp of 24.8. Some pinholes at left, an attractive cover.
1895 (9 Jul) cover to London, franked by 1895 (Mar) 4d. rose, paying inland postage, centrally cancelled by violet ‘British Mail Antananarivo’ cds, in combination with Natal 2½d. bright blue, paying external postage, tied in transit by Durban JY 30 95 cds, red hooded arrival backstamp; some slight faults to 4d. and envelope opened on two sides, ink smudging.
1902 ‘Avis De Reception’ complete form for a letter from Haiphong Tonkin to Nottingham Road, Natal, franked with 10c. tied red Haiphong Tonkin date stamp, this date stamp repeated inside, also with Aden transit and T.P.O. Natal arrival.
