PONT. 4/St Michel applied in transit at Paris together with scarce accountancy handstamp ‘F/25’, reverse with France Midi Belgian entry tpo and arrival cds; some slight ageing.
(Genova) 1871 stampless entire from Genova to Tunisi bearing despatch cds and company chop. On arrival 60c. Postage Due applied and tied Tunisi Poste Italiane cds which is repeated on reverse together with a Cagliari transit. Fine and rare with Colla Asinelli certificate.
(Italian Post Offices) 1922 registered express cover to Greenville, Ill., USA franked Tientsin overprinted 2 cents on 5c., 4 cents on 10c. (2) and 10 cents on 25c. postage plus 12 cents on 30c. Express, registered handstamps and manuscript numbering, violet cachet stating franked at second rate tarif, reverse with Brindisi and Torino transits, Chicago transits and arrival cds; good clean condition.
(Maritime Mail) 1891 5m Sphinx stationery letter card uprated 5m. to Berlin only cancelled by fine strike of the rare two-line handstamp Piroscafi postali/ Inglesi which was applied at Venice or Brindisi to letters posted on a British ship. There are no further cancels front or back, with both Sorani and A Dienna initials.
