Underfranked with fine example of Insufficiently Prepaid handstamp, manuscript “Deficient postage 6d/ fine 6d” and ‘1/-‘ handstamp at right. The Insufficient handstamp had just been delivered to the Gibraltar Post Office in January 1865.

(strip of three with right hand stamp damaged at top) tied by ‘A01’ obliterators routed via London, rated “1/4”and handstamped ‘1d’, reverse with Kingston despatch, red Bombay cds (JA 24) and hexagonal Lahore (Jan 30), Peshawur in red and black both FE.1 and Nowshara arrival of FE 2. (damaged at left) and 6d.(strip of three) cancelled by ‘A02’ obliterators routed via London, rated “1/4”and handstamped ‘1d’, reverse with Gordon Town despatch, Kingston transit (MY 24) green oval SEA POST OFFICE date stamp, hexagonal Lahore (Jul 23) and red arrival cds; some toning around perfs not detracting from a fine item. 1872 (Jun 26) 3c. postal stationery envelope to Montreux, Switzerland, uprated 1870-71 1c. ‘Franklin’ and 3c. ‘Washington’ cancelled by segmented cork handstamps, San Francisco despatch cds and New York Via England & Ostend transit, at centre straight-line ‘INSUFFICIENTLY PAID’ and ‘VIA OSTENDE’, blue manuscript “15”, red “35” charge on arrival (The U.S. 3c deficiency is equivalent to 15c and then a 20c. penalty added). Basel transit and arrival cds; some small tears repaired at top.
1873 (JA 10) entire to Paris franked 1865 watermarked 8p. (2), 4a. and 8a. tied fine Pondichery duplex and overstruck by two oval company chops; small tone spot at top does not detract from attractive appearance
1875 (July) small cover addressed to Umritsur, India, franked 1 shahi black Tiger’s Head, plate VI, pos. 14, dated 1290 with a cut cancel and a tear cancel. Peshawar, Peshawar City, Rawulpindee transits and arrival, framed Postage Due as Afghan stamp only paid for local carriage.
1879 mourning envelope to London franked 2a and pair 4a tied 'N-7' numeral duplexes, registration handstamp on reverse with manuscript details, arrival on front; some slight faults to envelope otherwise an attractive item.
1880s cover to Shiraz, Iran franked on reverse ½a (2) and 1a.6p tied square circle 'BUSRAH' date stamps, 'BUSHIRE' and 'BOUCHIR' transits of Indian and Persian Offices; some faults to envelope.
1883 (Oct. 7) ‘The Eastern Telegraph Company’ printed Telegram envelope registered to Mauritius bearing mixed issue India franking of 1865 2a. brown-orange and 1882-90 3a brown-orange with two ‘B’ within bars cancels, Aden cds to left and four-line dated Registration handstamp, ‘R’ in circle bottom right and to left red oval Registered Mauritius. The envelope has had a new corner added at bottom right, a rare mixed franking.
1886 cover to Bombay franked on reverse India 1a. 6p. horizontal strip of four tied Aden square circles, envelope endorsed “pr Ravena”, reverse with SEA POST OFFICE index A cds and Bombay arrival.
1892 Value Declared CHARGE envelope for 200 francs to Sonvico, Switzerland franked ‘Sage’ 10c. (damaged corner), 25c. and 50c. tied Boghari Alger cds, revere with framed segmented handstamp (number 5142), Lugano transit and five red wax seals.
1894 (14 SE) Quarter Anna incoming postal stationery card from Bombay to Fort Stedman via Thazi (Meiktila Road) arriving 23 Sep (Latest Recorded Date) passed to Deposit Room 26 Sep (only recorded example). Readdressed to Lashio via Maymo arriving OC 7 – 8 (Latest Recorded Date), readdressed to Bangkok, Thailand via Singapore with arrival backstamp of 6/11. Reverse of card bears printed message from The Anthropological Society of Bombay for a meeting on 26th Sept.
1895 (DE 31) cover from BUSHIRE to Cairo franked on reverse by India 1892-96 2a.6p. yellow-green tied by fine large part strike of type Z16 ("C14") "BUSHIRE" squared circle (still clearly showing "E" complete) with two strikes of boxed "TOO LATE" above (applied at the Bushire P.O.). Bold "SUEZ" (27 1 96) and "CAIRE" (28 1 96) transit and arrival cds alongside. Some cover creases but desirable with the "TOO LATE" marking.
1896 Unfranked cover posted from Varna to Shumen, taxed on arrival by imperforated 30st/50st 1895 surcharged postage due issue. Very rare commercial usage of this imperforated stamp.

1896-1901 group of five AR covers, two registration stationery and the others ordinary stationery, each with violet double-ring handstamp, all to same company in Hamburg from five different towns; fair to fine condition.
1900 (26/1) 5h postal stationery card to Calcutta uprated with Coat of Arms litho 2k yellow in combination with typo 1h grey-black tied Sarajevo cds, Indian Sea Post Office B transit. Very fine item of stationery to unusual destination with rare combination of printings and currency.
