China (Chinkiang Local Post) 1894 registered cover to Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank, Shanghai franked Golden Mountain 1c. (2) and 5c. tied by two Chinkiang Postal Service handstamps (The two 1c. stamps have been previously cancelled – they were often sold cto for collectors at the Post Office. The left-hand 1c. tied by same cancel tying 5c. and central cancel tying both 1c.), very fine REGISTERED handstamp, numbered “15” , reverse with dated Chinkiang cds and Shanghai arrival cds, also with full wax seal of Municipal Council Chinkiang with remains of string. Small cut to corner of envelope and opened out for display, a very rare commercial registered cover.
