Guadeloupe 1863 (11 Dec) outer letter sheet to New York franked with General Colony 1859-65 5c. yellow-green and 40c. orange in horizontal strip of three (the first stamp with slight tear at base) tied with lozenge of dots, Pointe-A-Pitre unframed datestamp at left, transported through British mail with fair strike of rare red PAID AT GUADELOUPE crown circle and with red double arc Guadeloupe date stamp, routed via St Thomas with cds on reverse (DE 14) and per closed mail via Havana with Steamship 10 handstamp. A fine and very attractive item.
