Bahamas 1860 (March 17) newspaper rate wrapper from Nassau to  Washington D.C. franked Great Britain perf 14 1d,, GL tied by ‘A05’ obliterator in black with double arc BAHAMAS on reverse, signed at top by ex-President “Franklin Pierce” for free franking privilege within the U.S.A. Crayon ‘2’ (cents) presumably not collected in deference to the es President (1853-57). A very rare rate and stamp used on an historic cover. Fragile state with some splitting. BPA Cert (1993).
