
GREAT BRITAIN USED ABROAD - CHILE: 1877 (Feb 3): Great Britain 1870 1½ d. pl. 3, 1876 8 d. orange and 1867 10 d. red-brown used on 1877 cover from Valparaiso to Paris endorsed 'via Panama', tied by three strikes of the "C30" obliterator with neat 'Valparaiso' cds below (Feb 3). 'London / Paid' transit cds in red at left (March 17) and reverse with arrival. A most unusual make-up of the 1/7½d. rate and a charming three colour franking and a unique usage of 8 d. in Chile.
