

SEYCHELLES: 1864 (Dec): Envelope to Mme Cordier in Paris with enclosed eight page letter datelined "Mahé le 20. bre 1864" (small portion missing), endorsed "Suez / Paqt. français" and bearing Mauritius 4 d. and 1 s. pen-cancelled, having been privately carried, probably to Bombay, where the adhesives were not accepted, the 1 s. additionally tied by handstruck "18" (décimes) with French "POS. AN. V. SUET PAQ. F" octagonal entry datestamp (Dec 15) in red below, showing framed "INDIA UNPAID" and handwritten note "non double" at left, having been forwarded via Aden with "ADEN-STR.-POINT" single arc datestamp and PARIS arrival (Dec 16) on reverse.
