Mexico (United States War) 1847 (July 10) entire headed “Camp near Matomoros, Mexico” from a Captain in the 10th U.S. infantry to the Paymaster General in Washington. The front is struck with a two-line BRAZOS/ JULY 10 handstamp and inscribed (on Service Mexico) and “Free”; two vertical filing creases ironed out with some staining.
