HAITI HAITI: 1882: Liberty Head, strip of three 7 c. blue, plate II, first printing, used in combination with 1887 Salomon 1 c. lake, irregular block of five and a strip of three 3 c. blue, used on a registered cover from Port au Prince to Kingston, Jamaica, dated 25 August 1888, tied by dispatch datestamp, framed registered R in black and Jamaica registered oval in black alongside dated 8 September 1888, soiled, although a very rare mailing and very scarce combination franking; the only recorded Caribbean Area rate cover franked with Salomon stamps; the 35 c. franking pays a five-times Caribbean Area foreign letter rate (for distances of less than 300 miles) and the 10c. registration fee.
