TIBET TIBET: ca early 1950s registered insured cover from Shigatse to PHARI franked on reverse1t scarlet (3) tied by Shigatse VIII cancel (Hell T46). Note the cancels have been strategically placed to cover the value figures of all stamps. For quite a long time 1tr & 2tr stamps were printed in the same colours. This led to postal fraud by postal clerks who sold 1tr stamps for 2tr.Insured for 5 rupees. Dated Jan 30th, no year, with seals, small peripheral faults to envelope, 1 stamp cut into.
