(Berlin Olympics) 1936 (31.7.) registered cover to Schona at 54pf rate with stamps tied Hellendorf cds at left with framed Olympic Torch Relay 1936 handstamp, below this double oval date stamp and below this just the Olympic Rings with date of 31.7.36 within those rings, a rarer cancel. Light vertical filing crease, arrival backstamps.
(London 1908 Olympics) 1908 Monaco composite imperf proof sheet for various advertising/Exposition vignettes. The sheet in dull orange-brown with 71 item including four for ‘Nice Carnival’, two for Motor Boat Running and two for an Exhibition of Motor Boats, vertical column of nine, Paris Fair, Agricultural show and British Olympic Committee, four columns for Monaco Car Expo in two different designs. Heavy vertical and horizontal fold causing some splitting, also a couple of small tears and faults. These vignettes for 1908 Olympics are the only philatelic related items that mention the Games. A rare item.
