D’Armees Noumea cds with another fine strike alongside, front and back with violet Colonies Francais Nlle Caledonie/ SERVICE DE SANTE, the one on reverse with manuscript endorsement and signature above. Also showing the rare French Packet Line T transit in red Cor.D.Armees Paq.Fr.T No4; light horizontal filing crease and slight envelope faults not detracting.
1896 registered cover to Hannover franked 25c. (3) and 50c. paying the quadruple weight (1F postage plus 25c registration) cancelled Moindou cds, transit and arrival backstamps; a couple of slight faults to home-made envelope, a remarkable franking for a small village.
1897 (14 May) ‘AR’ registered cover to Algeria franked 10c. and 25c. (single and pair) tied by Noumea cds, reverse with five small golden studs, Marseille transit and Alger arrival cds. A few insignificant stains, a fine AR cover, Ex. Grabowski.
1897 (21 June) incoming unfranked opened-out envelope from Caulnes, Cotes du Nord via Paris addressed to a prisoner at “Ile desPins”taxed on arrival with 50c. Postage Due tied arrival cds with Noumea cds alongside. The prison was closed at this date and envelope bears blue manuscript “Ferme”. Fine and scarce with Roumet certificate (2012). Ex. Grabowski.
1898 (7 Avril) internal cover to Noumea franked 10c. and 15c. tied by fine Nlle Caledonie GOMEN cds, arrival backstamp of 10 Avril; fine quality, Ex Grabowski.
1900 (7 April) registered cover to Paris franked 1892 10c. and 1899-1901 15c. on 30c horizontal strip of three showing displaced surcharges tied by Affranchissts Noumea cds. Arrival backstamp. Ex. Grabowski.
1900 and 1901 envelopes to France corrcetly franked at Community rate of 15c. using the 1899-1901 surcharges with, in these cases ‘15’ on 30c. and ‘15’ on 75c. Ex. Grabowski, on his album page.
1902 part printed envelope to Paris franked at 15c French Community rate and a 1913 cover with Group type 10c surcharge used at new rate. With other stamps in existence at this time, use of these surcharges is generally rare.
1903 (16 Mars) registered cover to Alexandrie, Egypt franked with 1892 10c. and 40c. tied single Thio cds with another strike alongside, reverse with Colombo and Suez transits plus arrival cds. Ex Grabowski.

1904 (13 Dec) picture postcard ‘Le Col de la Pirogue’ registered to Anvers, Belgium franked 10c. and 25c. tied Noumea cds on picture side, reverse with further dispatch cds, framed ‘R’ and arrival cds.
1905 and 1904 printed matter rate items. 1904 unsealed envelope from Noumea at a double rate. Unlikely as so small, sent to UK endorsed “please forward” and then to USA plus 1904 printed matter wrapper for the Tribunal de Commerce de Noumea at triple rate which is possible if at the top of a bundle, or it also contained a written enclosure and travelled at 15c. French Community rate.
1905 and 1909 registered letters bearing combination frankings between Group Type and ‘Kagu’ definitives, 1905 cover at 50c overseas rate to Nylstroom, Transvaal and 1909 at 35c rate to Algeria.

1908 (28 Nov) registered cover used within Port Vila bearing mixed issues franking of New Caledonia 1892 30c. strip of four, 1903 50th Anniversary of French Annexation 30c. and 1905-07 40c. pair, tied seven Port-Vila Nelles Hebrides cds, ‘R’ octagonal handstamp, without backstamps; fine and attractive.
