HONG KONG : 1851 entire written from Canton to Georgetown, D.C., USA endorsed “Via Southampton” bearing central , somewhat faint Paid Crown Circle, to left of this two-line ‘SHIP LETTER/ VICTORIA-HONGKONG’, Red British PAID cds overstruck New-York 5cts cds, reverse with faint Hong Kong cancel; some oxidised reddish ink staining, an unusual combination of Ship Letter and Crown circle.


INDIA MARITIME: 1890 (AP 1) Envelope to France franked India QV 1a. + 2a. tied by indistinct ‘UTT....’ squared circle, on reverse handstamped exceedingly rare intaglio SEA POST OFFICE E 25 AP, Bombay transit and Paris arrival alongside.

Service operated jointly by the Chinese Eastern Railway Maritime Co and the Russian Volunteer Fleet, fine.

Scotland: 1768 entire from USA to Glasgow bearing endorsement of Captain bottom left, top left with partial strike of Pt. Glasgow/ Ship Letter handstamp. With message from a new arrival “We are now going up the river and I hope to be at Petersburg in a few hours...I like the country here very well”. A very early use of this ship letter mark.


SWEDEN - Maritime: 1907 (9 10) 10o. postal stationery card to Switzerland cancelled with manuscript ‘Paquebot Fran Malmo’ date line Fleurier arrival alongside, fine and scarce.

TURKEY: Ottoman Mail in Greece, 1900s: Commercial cover from Adramytte franked with 20 pa. tied by double-ring Greek maritime handstamp. Fine and very scarce.

Unclearly dated 1890s cover from Odessa to Chio, Turquie franked 10k. cancelled upon arrival by double oval ROPIT Agent V Khiosye, which is repeated to left. With letter. A couple of light stains at top otherwise good condition, scarce.

Undated cover to Finsporg, Sweden franked by three 4 ore tied by two framed ‘Fran DANMARK.’ Handstamps, good clean condition.
