1892 (12 Juin) 5pf German reply postal stationery card, used from Austria to a ship at Hong Kong with full message, reverse of reply section with Singapore to Hong Kong marine sorter, used back to Dresden, Germany with the added Austrian stamp and German 5pf image with pen cancels, Hong Kong SP 2 index E despatch cds, arrival cds of 10/10. Some splitting to join otherwise fine and unusual.

1895 (22 Janv) Military Concession rate cover to Bordeaux franked 15c. tied Corr. D’Armees Noumea cds with another fine strike alongside, front and back with violet Colonies Francais Nlle Caledonie/ SERVICE DE SANTE, the one on reverse with manuscript endorsement and signature above. Also showing the rare French Packet Line T transit in red Cor.D.Armees Paq.Fr.T No4; light horizontal filing crease and slight envelope faults not detracting.

1895 commercial envelope to Paris bearing an oval handstamp J.L. Simon/ MAHE (Seychelles) franked 25c. Sage tied octagonal Ligne T Paq. Fr. No.3 date stamp; fine clean condition without backstamps. Fine example of French Office at Mahe.


1896 (12 Oct) 10k stationery letter card to Calcarra, Malta written from H.M.S. “Trafalgar” at Salonica cancelled violet ROPIT SALONIKI cds, British Post Office Constantinople transit, Malta B cds and part Cospicua cds, reverse with ROPIT Constantinopoli transit. Slight stain bottom left and some more on reverse not unduly detracting.

1896 ‘Grand Hotel de l’Univers’ cover to Cairo franked India 2a., 2a.6p., 6a. and 8a. tied ‘B’ handstamps, ‘R’ in circular handstamp and blue manuscript registration number of India Seapost, reverse with unframed Aden Reg date stamp, Suez and Caire cds.


1898 cover from Vladivostok addressed in English to Copenhagen, Denmark, placed in ship’s letter-box and the 10k. Russian stamp cancelled on landing at Niigata Japan, framed PAQUEBOT (Hosking type 3268) alongside, Tokio transit, reverse with San Francisco transit and arrival cds. THE ONLY RECORDED EXAMPLE OF THE NIIGATA PAQUEBOT MARK. Ex Hosking and Dr. Casey.


1898 envelope to Ersines, France, franked two pairs 1898 ‘Provisorio 10 Centavos’ on 40c. (bottom right corner of second stamp in first pair damaged) cancelled by indistinct cd, to left French maritime Buenos Ayres A Bordeaux date stamp . Reverse with Buenos Aires transit and arrival cancels.
