The envelope has been carried by a coastal mail paquebot to Dar Es Salaam where the 10pf Germania has been tied by unclear DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/OST-/AFRIKA-/ LINIE q date stamp and overstruck on arrival ‘Deutsche Schutzgebiet’ handstamp.

1914 envelope addressed to Kurgaus, Wurttemberg, franked on reverse 10k. Romanov tied by purple Favignana * Piroscafo Postale Italiano date stamp (Black Sea Line). Censored en route at Munich with censor strip applied with violet cachets, the strip with manuscript date of 20th September, curiously, the maritime cds is dated 9th November; vertical filing crease and sme staining, a most unusual cover.

HONG KONG : 1851 entire written from Canton to Georgetown, D.C., USA endorsed “Via Southampton” bearing central , somewhat faint Paid Crown Circle, to left of this two-line ‘SHIP LETTER/ VICTORIA-HONGKONG’, Red British PAID cds overstruck New-York 5cts cds, reverse with faint Hong Kong cancel; some oxidised reddish ink staining, an unusual combination of Ship Letter and Crown circle.
