1867 entire to Beirut franked 1865/66 2pi. blue and rose, horizontal network, with clear to large margins from Tarsus, cancelled on arrival by triangular dotted ‘783’ in greenish-blue, reverse showing over-inked Beirut arrival in the same colour. Rare and unusual.

1873 (24th Oct) entire to Genova annotated to be carried by the “Liguria”, this ship had left Buenos Aires on Sept 15th and passed through Gibraltar. The cover has been prepaid in Gibraltar by ½d. and 1d. Great Britain that remained uncancelled and not considered valid by the Italian Post Office who applied a 40c postage due charge. Fine and unusual.
1873 (3 Dec) entire from Lisbon to Bordeaux with ship endorsement at top that has been amended to be carried on the “Senegal” and bearing scarce French maritime Lisbonne Paq. Fr. J. No.3, handstamp ‘6’ rate marking, arrival backstamp; a fine example of this scarce cds.

1878 10c. Official postal stationery card authorised for public use sent from NAPLES to Reggio in Calabria by sea and landed at Messina, Sicily, where struck with a boxed 'PIROSCAFI/POSTALI' handstamp with the third line missing (only recorded used at Messina). Then taken across the Messina Straits to Reggio on the mainland.
