(New South Wales) Accumulation of Specimens on two album pages with 1888-89 Wmk (Crown)/NSW with 1d. inverted watermark, 2d., 4d., 6d. and 1/-, 1890 5s and 20s with numeral watermarks with specimen in large case and small case respectively, 1891 Surcharges set of 3, later issue 6d and 2/6d, Officials including 5s and 20s with numeral watermark, Postage Dues with 1/2d., 1d. and 3d. inverted watermark, 2d. sideways watermark, 4d. to 20s; mostly good to fine condition.
1885 40 PARAS on 2½d. block of eight, HQ-IT, each stamp handstamped SPECIMEN. The stamps were surcharged from a horizontal setting of eight clichés, of which 3 showed a small ‘S’. The four stamps at right of this block are with the small ‘S’; fresh hinged mint.
1909 Waterlow & Sons Ltd perforated proof for the 5c. elephant value in unissued colours, a sheetlet of 9 with each stamp overprinted with small punch hole. One of the two sheets found in the Waterlow stock of line perforated with imperf horizontally between stamps. The central stamp also shows extra shading below elephant’s head. Very fine unused without gum.
1920 Victory Stamp proofs selection with imperf plate proofs 1d. deep magenta and 1½d. pale sage-green, sepia and violet, 1½d. sage-green block of 4 Ex Gawaine Baillie, three imperf 1d. colour trials imperf in different colours (Only perforated colour trials are listed) and group of imperf stamps in issued colours overprinted specimen in full horizontally or part diagonally. A fine assembly.
