Japanese Occupation - Johore: 1944 4c. postal stationery card tied Batu Pahat date stamp and Japanese censor chop at centre. Addressed to Kukup, a small village in SW Johore, written in Jawi; fine and clean condition.

June 1925 stampless envelope bearing grey-blue cds of MECCA and at top right a fine violet handstamp. The Arabic Revolt against the Ottomans started with the battle of Mecca and during this period the postal services collapsed; a scarce survivor from this period with inconsequential small faults to envelope.


Korea 1902 (12 Dec) registered picture postcard to Lyon, France, franked 1900-03 perf 11 4ch. and 10ch. tied by Seoul Coree cds repeated to left which is overstruck by registration handstamp, Shang-Hai Chine transit of 22 Dec of French post Office, unclear Ligne N French maritime date stamp, arrival cancel bottom right; some light tone spotting, a scarce registered card.

On reverse transits Shanghai French office ‘25 Nov 02’, French mail steamer octagonal ‘Marseilles a YOKOHAMA L.N. No. 8 29 Nov 02’ and ‘Copenhagen 1.1.03’ arrival. Also bears a German TPO R-label ‘From foreign via railway mail p.o. 10 Verviers-Cologne’. Remarkable commercial usage of the 50ch. plum blossom. Unreported item, from old Danish family correspondence, wrapper with some faults.

KOREA: 1901 (Aug 17): Imperial Korean Post U.P.U: 4 c. stationery card uprated 10 c. purple and sent registered to Paris, cancelled "SEOUL COREE" cds and with framed red registration handstamp top left, "SHANGHAI CHINE" transit cds of the French Post Office, reverse with arrival cancels. Only two registered examples recorded, stained bottom right corner, a rarity.


KOREA: 1902 (June 2): AR registered envelope to St. Petersburg, Russia franked on both sides with a combination of 16 stamps, on back 1895 5 p. green, strip of three 10 p. blue, 25 p. maroon, also overprinted in red 5 p. green, overprinted in black 25 p. maroon, pair of 2 re. gray, on front with pair of 20 ch. red-brown, two 15 ch. gray-violet, 5 ch. pink, 6 ch. blue and 10 ch. purple, all tied by "SEOUL / COREE" departure cds, front bears registration handstamp and framed 'A R', reverse with SHANGHAI transit (June 12) and St. PETERSBURG arrival (July 8, julian). A couple of light stains not detracting from a remarkable cover.
