ITALIAN STATES TUSCANY: 1853 (14 MARZU) Folded cover to Naples franked 4cr. verde scuro su azzurro (1851 issue) with red boxed CORRETA indicating a correct tariff of 14gr. (as opposed to 4l.) tied by MARCIANA MARIT cds, better but still faint strike alongside, faint transit per 10 Stato Pontificio backstamp, stamp with mostly large margins, rare as such.


ITALIAN STATES: Stato Pontificio 1859 (Sept 20): Part entire without sideflaps to Lisbon, Portugal franked with 1852 single four margined 2 b. and right-hand marginal strip of four 5 b., with margins just touched in two places (Sassone 3+6), cancelled by rhomboid of bars, small framed "P.P." at right, ROMA despatch, red entry cds and local arrival charge handstamp '480' (reis), reverse with French ambulant transits and oval arrival (Oct 3) datestamp. Fine cover to a scarce destination.



ITALIAN STATES: Toscana 1854 (Aug 16): Entire adressed to Vienna where redirected to Schloss Fridau near St, Pölten, franked on obverse with 1851 4 cr. green on grey pair tied by "S. PIERO A SIEVE" cds and bearing on reverse 1 q. black on bluish, two vertical pairs (Sassone 6+ la), tied by WIEN datestamp, "ST. PÖLTEN" arrival (Aug 26) backstamp. ITALIAN STATES: Toscana 1855 (Nov 20): Small mourning entire to Napoli franked 1851 1 soldo orange-bistre (Sassone 2d), five single examples overlapping reverse of cover, all tied by red PISA cds's, NAPOLI arrival backstamp (Nov 25). (SASS 20 + 25 + 26) cancelled rhomboid of dots with Roma c.d.s. in association, attractive and scarce franking with such a large margined 80c. to an unusual destination.
