1859 cover to “Passenger Overland/ Post Office. Aden”, red Boston Paid cds, carried by British Packet at 39c rate on cunard “Niagura”. At top manuscript endorsement “N J Kindman’s complis/ Aden May 23rd 1859” for forwarding out of mails to Penang, a manuscript arrival endorsement on reverse.
1860 (Dec 15) orange-buff envelope to Hannover bearing 3c. Washington (Sc. 26) block of four and single all cancelled by red circular open grids, matching N.York ‘Paid 10’ Hamb. Pkt credit exchange cds, reverse with Hamburg transit and Pollearrival. One 3c. with trimmed perfs and no bottom backflap but still a very fine, rare use of 18513c. block of four and single to pay 15c. Bremen-Hamburg treaty rate.
1861 (Mar 2) envelope to Marseille, France franked 1857-61 1c. pair, 3c. and 10c. (rounded top right corner) cancelled with dots in a circle handstamp, large Superior Wis. Despatch at left, three stamps also tied by red New York PAID 12 date stamp denoting amount due from France for a letter carried by a British Packet, red octagonal French maritime date stamp and framed PD, reverse with French tpo transits and arrival.
1864 outer letter sheet to Philadelphia franked by 1858-79 2d. blue block of six, plate 9, PH-QJ tied by WC/5 London obliterators, two stamps additionally tied by arrival date stamp, ‘21/ Cents’ charge handstamp alongside; fine multiple on cover.
1864 registered cover to Glasgow, endorsed "Per Royal Mail Route" and bearing straight-line REGISTERED and framed POST OFFICE/ VICTORIA VANCOUVER handtsamp, franked United States 24c. tied target handstamp and by New York Registered date stamp,San Francisco transit cds bottom left, cursive (crown) Registered and London Paid cds arrival backstamp; some faults to envelope but still an attractive example of rare registered mail.
1865 (May 18) entire to Cognac, France endorsed “Via Panama” with despatch cds at top right, faint company chop at left, routed through New York with ‘9’ charge date stamp, black handstamped ‘15’, red French entry cds, reverse with French transits and arrival cds.
1866 (Jan 15) envelope addressed to “U.S. Flag Ship Colorado” at Paris franked 1861-63 3c. and 12c. paying the ¼ oz. rate, tied Palmyra N.Y. cds, red New York Paid 3 date stamp (Jan 20) crediting France with 3c., octagonal French maritime cancel and framed ‘PD’ in same ink.
1866 entire to Philadelphia, USA franked 1864 10c. and three 15c. (one defective) tied by framed FRANCO handstamps, Rotterdam dispatch and London transit cds both in red, Philadelphia Br. PKt arrival and handstamped ‘5’ accountancy, endorsed at top “By the Steamer Leaving Liverpool 7 April”; ironed out filing creases, attractive.

Washington brown-lilac tied by target cancel with Suspension Bridge N.Y. cds at right, red New York transit, part Liverpool cds, arrival backstamp. A couple of small ter in envelope and missing backflap.

1870 mourning wrapper from unknown South American provenance addressed to Paris, France, annotated to travel via the United States, the front bearing New York ‘12’ transit and faint London cds as well as fine diamond-framed accountancy ‘G.B./ 3f.60c., Calais A Paris tpo and rated ‘12’ decimes on arrival. Some damage to rear.
