1930 (9 Oct) De La Rue composite artist’s essay for a permanent set, based on the 1923 Hong Kong design (at the suggestion of the Zanzibar authorities) with ‘postal scales’ printed by a semi-photographic process in deep green with hand-painted details in a lighter green, blank at right for an Arabic inscription. A superb essay, ex Griffith-Jones, one of two known, illustrated on p. 204 of his book.

1949 Portraits accumulation of 74 Courvoisier proofs affixed to their archive pages, all are imperf in various colours or combination of colours and includes frame only of the miniature sheet. A unique group.
1952 hand-painted 3c. Harper Map working proof in violet and blue. The two busts at top not complete, the right-hand one similar to issued stamp, the one at left at a very different angle, a few manuscript annotations; fine and unusual.
