(Sinkiang Russian Post Offices Kuldja Post Office) 1918 (24.5) registered insured cover to Tientsin franked at 950k (inclusive of insurance for 500 roubles in banknotes enclosed) cancelled by Kuldja P.O. datestamps (Tchillinghirian Type 7), endorsed “Par Harbin” but delayed and interrupted by the Russian Revolution and arriving at Changchun I.J.P.O. on 18 Oct, some 5 months later, transferring to Tientsin I.J.P.O. on 20.10 and then to Russian Post Office on 21.10. for eventual delivery. A very fine item travelling through two different Foreign Post Offices.

(Treaty Ports) 1886 incoming envelope from United States to its consulate at Foochow, franked 5c grey-brown that appears not to have been cancelled though there is some discolouration at top right, faint blue Hampton cds alongside, fine black ‘25/T’ charge handstamp applied at Foochow, reverse with San Francisco transit, Hong Kong transit (MR 4) and Foochowfoo arrival (MR 11); fine and scarce.

KGV from North Finchley with hexagonal framed T/30 handstamp, no charge apparently being collected, reverse with very clear Shanghai Br. P.O transit and on front British Post Office Foochow arrival.

1880 cover from Arundel, England, franked pair 2½d addressed to Shanghai. Reverse 'Hong Kong' transit (JA 20) and 'SHANGHAE' index A cds of British Post Offices, re-directed back to England with Hong Kong transit, London transit and final arrival cds; some toning, a well travelled cover.
1886 (MR 5) 1d. pink stationery envelope uprated 1883-84 5d. green to British Legation, Pekin, China cancelled London S.W. ‘22’ duplex, reverse with Singapore/ B/ Hong Kong marine sorter. Without further cancels indicating carriage by diplomatic bag from Hong Kong; good condition.
1889 (Jun 18) mourning envelope to Gand, Belgium franked Small Dragon 3ca tied by fine blue Tientsin seal in combination with France 25c. ‘Sage’, both cancelled with Shanghai Chine cds, red French tpo below, reverse with Customs Tientsin cds, Customs Shanghai cds alongside of Jun 24, Paris Etranger transit of 3rd August and arrival cds of next day. Right-hand side panel is missing on reverse, correctly franked with all appropriate cancels present.
1897 (26 Nov) cash paid envelope to P&O Navigation Co. Hong Kong, bearing red bilingual PAID and blue-black Canton dollar chop, reverse with arrival index A cds of NO 27, envelope with ‘Custom House/ Canton’ embossed oval in backflap. Fine and attractive.

Envelope slightly reduced at top. A rare stampless inter office item.

1899 (17 Aug) registered cover to Potsdam, Germany bearing Coiling Dragon values including $1 Goose tied by neat bilingual Amoy cds, the 5c. cancelled only by ‘R’ handstamp with registration handstamp to right, additionally franked for overseas postage with Hong Kong 10c. purple/red single and blocks of four and six with distinctive framed I.P.O. handstamps of Amoy, additionally cancelled in Hong Kong, arrival backstamp. Without backflap and some slight soiling not detracting from fine appearance, The $1 a rare stamp on cover.
1899 (3 Aug) envelope to Portland, Maine, bearing C.I.P. 5c salmon pair and 10c green, cancelled by Paoting dollar chop, in combination with Japan Koban 10s vertical pair with small framed ‘I.P.O.’ tie-print and Shanghai I.J.P.O. cds; the cover with original enclosure, the stamps have a few small faults not detracting from an attractive double rate cover.
