(Genova) 1871 stampless entire from Genova to Tunisi bearing despatch cds and company chop. On arrival 60c. Postage Due applied and tied Tunisi Poste Italiane cds which is repeated on reverse together with a Cagliari transit. Fine and rare with Colla Asinelli certificate.
1841 (24 Nov) outer letter sheet with, on reverse, fine legible negative seal of ‘Magistrato Di Sanita Di Genova’ to Consul General at Tunis, showing two-line GENOVA despatch date stamp and italic P.D. , front endorsed at bottom left to travel via Malta and very fine strike of ‘Malta Post Office’ , (50 x 5 mm) showing frame lines to handstamp top and bottom, reverse with Livorno transit of 3 Dic. Good clean condition.
1841 entire from Genova, Italy to Consul General at Tunis, bearing two-line despatch, red P.P. applied at right that has been overstruck with a larger P.D., a further two-line Genova handstamp in smaller type and in black, annotated in green at left to go via Malta whose straight-line Malta Post Office, 50 x 5mm, appears at top, reverse with Official cachet and Livorno date stamp; good condition.
1935 (23.IX.) incoming unfranked cover from Kuopio, Finland to Tunis endorsed Express under despatch cancel, framed ‘T’ handstamp and blue crayon “41 2/3c” , a 1923-29 3f. violet/rose postage due applied and tied by machine cancel, but the charge was refused and stamp with green crayon cross, address similarly erased and thee-line handstamp TUNIS/ RETOUR/ A L’ENVOYEUR front and back. Small tear at top of envelope.
