1909-12 20c. ‘Pepper Plants’ imperf proofs on lined paper without gum, three examples in different colours, one rose and green issued colours, the others ochre and black and orange and green unissued. Fine and attractive.

1909-23 Waterlow & Sons perforated proof of 12c. ‘Palm Cockatoo’ in unissued colours of red and black in complete sheetlet of nine, each stamp overprinted ‘Waterlow & Sons Ltd Specimen’ with small punch hole in corner, the stamps within the sheet are imperforate horizontally between each other but not margin, fresh unused without gum. Very rare.


1910 (17 Oct) Unissued sunken essay with black & mauve design with arch inscribed Portugal with two value tablets 65, designed by Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. Ltd, London. 12 days after the Revolution on October 5th. Eye catching & superb.

1910 (7 Nov) cover to Samarai franked 1909-10 perf 12½, watermark sideways 2d. (SG 68) single, two pairs and a block of four tied Port Moresby cds. The stamp at far left with damaged top left corner.

1910 (June 4) envelope from Shanghai to C.E. Tanant, Custom House, Nanning, showing handstruck framed ‘Inspectorate General/Postage Paid/Statistical Department’ in green, reverse with Shanghai bilingual cancels and Wuchow cds. A good example.

1910 intact 5h internal reply stationery card with outward part addressed to Graz tied K.Und K.Militarpost Gorazda cds without any uprating stamp but not charged, the reply section returned to Banjaluka from Graz, again not uprated but this time 2h Postage Due added and tied Banjaluka date stamp.
