Both the manuscript and printed routings have been crossed out and ignored.

(Post Offices in China) 1908 (15.5.) 4k. ‘Kitai’ overprinted postal stationery card to Burgstadt, Germany cancelled by cyrillic Peking, index a cds with another strike to left, arrival cancel of 15.6. at bottom left; good condition with full message.

(Post Offices in China) 1918 (21.3.) 4k. stationery card to Shanghai uprated with 3k vertical pair tied by Chita index ‘b’ cds, centre of card with fine example of rare Shanghai censor in red, reverse of card datelined Pelschanka (bei Tschita)on origin; some heavy folding creases at left not affecting the stamps.

Pagett 5th Fusiliers Crete”, endorsed bottom left corner “British Forces Crete” , stamp cancelled Candia Oesterreichische Post cds, reverse with Dover Station Office cds; some slight faults to envelope, opened-out for display a rare and unusual item of mail from the International Peace-Keeping Force in Crete.

(Postage Due) 1905 underpaid picture postcard from London with hexagonal framed T applied in London and with framed handstamp showing postage due of 1 anna on arrival, single circle arrival cds at base.


(Postage Due) 1930 (JY 1) incoming underpaid cover from Kampala, Uganda to Poste Restante, underfranked with 1c., 'T' in circle and plain 'T' tax mark alongside, deficiency of 14 Uganda cents calculated as 35 gold centimes (=21 Zanzibar cents) paid by 1926-30 21c. black/orange postage due tied cds, subsequently marked with red m/s cross and initials, and charged "Charges Paid" below, the same ink deleting Tax marks and used fro the return address to Kampala. (Postage Due) 1931 (Dec 10) unpaid ‘Cutress’ cover from London with Post Early for Christmas slogan cancel, blue “T.30” to indicate double deficiency of 1 ½d. x 2 (= 30 gold centimes), arrival backstamp of 30 DE, with 1930-33 6c. black/yellow and 12c. black/bue applied on face and tied by Zanzibar cds of following day. Fine and scarce. Ex Griffith-Jones.

(Postage Due) 1931 (JA 29) incoming ‘Mehta’ cover from Nairobi, underfranked at 14c rate tied, ‘T’ in circle tax mark at lower, arrival backstamp with the correct 2c. deficiency paid by 1926-30 2c. black/orange postage due tied neat cds. Philtelic, but very fine and the only recorded single usage of this stamp. Ex Griffith-Jones, illustrated in his book.

Fine and scarce.
