(Sinkiang Russian Post Offices Kuldja Post Office) 1918 (24.5) registered insured cover to Tientsin franked at 950k (inclusive of insurance for 500 roubles in banknotes enclosed) cancelled by Kuldja P.O. datestamps (Tchillinghirian Type 7), endorsed “Par Harbin” but delayed and interrupted by the Russian Revolution and arriving at Changchun I.J.P.O. on 18 Oct, some 5 months later, transferring to Tientsin I.J.P.O. on 20.10 and then to Russian Post Office on 21.10. for eventual delivery. A very fine item travelling through two different Foreign Post Offices.

These imperforate issues were only available at the Philatelic Bureau so are scarce on cover.

(Transcaucasion Federal Republic) 1923 Money transfer form for 140,000r. from Prishib 12.5.23 to Lenkoran 21.5.23 franked 50k. Arms type 21 overprint on an existing Armenian type 14 Hp overprint and 1R tied by Prishib Baki cds. An apparently unique usage on a money transfer form.

1780 Entire to Herrnhut, Germany bearing straight line ST.PETERSBOVRG handstamp. various manuscript rate markings. Fine and clean condition of this scarce cancel.

1823 outer letter sheet to Reval, Estonia bearing Cyrillic SANKT PETERBURG with single small star at the bottom (Dobin 1.05; Baille & Peel 1B(RT) 2v1). This rare cancellation was used in late 1822 and 1823; very fine and scarce.
1831 envelope to Riga, Latvia bearing rare red cyrillic Sankt Petersburg with single large 5 pointed star at base (Not in Dobin, Baillie & Peel 1B(R)3v2). This rare cancel was used in late 1829 and 1831.
1841 entire to Vevey, Switzerland cancelled on reverse French language, unframed St. Petersbourg circular handstamp, FRANCO/ AUS RUSSLAND transit applied in Berlin whose cds is on reverse, arrival backstamp. An extremely rare St Petersburg postmark, not recorded in Dobin. Baillie & Peel 1F, the three examples they record are all to Bordeaux. A rarity.
