(Corfu) 1875 stampless mourning entire from Trieste with despatch cancel on front and arrival backstamp, faint blue manuscript “70” and perf 12½ 70 lepta Postage Due applied and tied by numeral lozenge.


(Corfu) 1942 pair of censored registered covers from Kerkyra, franked at 2L.25 rate with ‘ISOLE JONIE’ (Ionian Islands) overprinted issues, Italian censorship at sides, Athens arrival backstamps.

(Corsica) 1767 (24 Jan) small neat entire from Algajola of the Haute Corse bearing fine straight-line ‘ARMEE DE CORSE’ handstamp; fine and attractive.

(touched margin ar right) cancelled ‘3060’ small numeral lozenge, St. Florent En Corse cds in association and further right a red CL framed handstamp. 1873 mourning outer letter sheet to Italy with 40c. tied large numeral lozenge ‘3595’, cds and ID handstamp, plus 1859 mourning envelope with two 10c. with small lozenge ‘3060’ (the right hand stamp maybe added and sold thus).


(Corsica) 1880 outer letter sheet to Livorno posted on board a vessel at Bastia, franked with ‘Sage’ 5c. (2) and 15c., arrival backstamp and handstamp “coi Postale Francesci” on front to indicate transport by a non Italian postal vessel; fine and scarce.


(Corsica) 1884 (5 Nov) cover franked 15c Sage tied by Ponte Leccia Corse cds and with small circular ‘OR’ handstamp bottom right. Also 1888 registered cover to Ajaccio franked Sage 10c. and 30c. tied similar date stamp, red framed ‘R’ handstamp, arrival backstamp. A Fine pair from a small village.


(Corsica) Undated, early 1800s cover to Switzerland addressed to an Officer of the Swiss Guard of the French King, endorsed “Par Antibes/ Turin et Milan”, CORTE despatch handstamp and various manuscript accountancy.


(Crash Mail) 1937 (20 NO) airmail cover from Kowloon to Glasgow carried on “Cygnus” that crashed with framed DAMAGED BY SEA-WATER handstamp, reverse with Victoria transit; stamp soaked off and some blue staining from water.


(Crash Mail) 1936 (13 AU) airmail cover to Brighton franked 50v. tied Air Mail cancel, carried by R.M.S. Dorado to Malaya to connect with Imperial Airways liner Scipio that crashed in the sea off Crete during a storm, bearing framed vioet DAMAGED BY SEA/ WATER handstamp; some water staining as to be expected.
