IRAN:1880c (Nov 2): Internal envelope to Teheran franked on reverse at 5 shahi rate with Shah Qajar 2nd Portrait 1 sh. red & black and two 2 sh. yellow & black, cancelled with bilingual ISPAHAN cds, TEHERAN arrival (Nov 5) cds alongside. The envelope reduced at right and rounded bottom left corner, very fine and fresh colours.

IRAQ: 1897 (27 3) incoming taxed commercial cover from Shiraz (Iran) posted unpaid in Bushire to Bagdad (9 Ap) Proud D8, one year earlier than recorded, where Proud UP5 & 11 tax markings applied (earliest recorded dates), forwarded to Kerbela, franked 1pi, some creasing at top not affecting markings.

IRELAND: 1762 (Aug 16): Entire from Charleston, South Carolina to London, rated '5' (d.) which has been deleted and replaced with '11' (d.), manuscript "ship" top right and straight line 'CLONMELL' below, reverse with straight-line 'COUNTRY' and arrival Bishop mark. Small part of backflap missing, nevertheless a remarkable item, believed to be the only recorded ship letter from Clonel which was further upstream from Dungarvon. Ex T. Roberts (1989).

IRELAND: 1822 (17 Aug.) entire letter from Edinburgh to William Whaley at the Post Office in Dublin, marked "N2" , rated "1/2" with straight line "NOT CALLED FOR" handstamp in red alongside collection and transit markings and receiving 24.08 d.s. on reverse. Entire with discreet repair otherwise fine and a scarce instructional marking.


IRELAND: 1833 (Oct 12): Entire letter from Rio de Janeiro to London, rated 5/0 and showing two line “DUNGARVAN / 97" handstamp with red manuscript "Ship letter" alongside and, on reverse WATERFORD and arrival datestamps.
