(Zeppelin Mail) 1929 15pf reply postal stationery card uprated 50pf to USA cancelled Frierichshafen cds, red Amsterdam Flight cachet and red framed befordert handstamp, the reply section attached but unused.




(Zeppelin Mail) 1933 (14.10.) roundtrip Chicago Flight pair of covers, one franked corner marginal pair of 1RM and corner marginal 2RM, the second with single 4RM, cancelled Friedrichshafen cds and red triangular cachet, each envelope with green return arrivals; good clean condition.

1644 entire from Lille to Gand without any postal markings, good condition.

1657 long and thick entire written from Cadiz to Amberez without postal markings; a fine early entire.


1668 (3 Agosto). Entire from Malaga to Lille, France, "10Pt" manuscript charge in different ink from address. Very clean condition.


1683 small engraved map ex Mallet, page 127 depicting ships at Manilla, two stained corners from mounting; fine early item.

1687 entire from Cadiz to Amberez with manuscript rate marking, in fine condition.



1690 (10 Oct) Incoming entire from Marseille to a banker with very fine heraldic seal intact. 2 wormholes otherwise fine.

1694 incoming entire from Lyon, France to “Malthe” without postal markings, light vertical and horizontal filing creases, good clean condition early incoming entire.

1699 (?) entire from Sevilla to Florence, Italy without postal markings, annotated "13-4", wafer seal on reverse, ink smudge on front

1720 entire from Galata to “Sig Nicolo Caragiani” at Venezia; a fine and fresh early clearly written legible letter.

1743 entire to WINDAU, without postal markings but with manuscript "Franco"; small tear at base otherwise fine and early item.


1744 (21 Jan) entire from France to Dublin, rated “2” in error, deleted and re-rated showing a very fine strikes of the horseshoe COUNTERFEIT/ 2 and RECHARGED alongside. Extremely rare handstamps, the latter unrecorded in this format, slightly rubbed horizontal filing crease, small corner fault clear of handstamps. An exceedingly rare and important item.

1745 incoming entire to Venezia from Constantinople with fine negative handstamp, very clean condition.


1747 and 1788 entires to Marseille and Carpentras each with straight-line ROME handstamp of the French Offices. Fine condition pair.

1752 disinfected entire to Marseille datelined "Seffy" on top of letter and by 'Saffi' on side panel, disinfected with liberal quantities of vinegar causing slight ink running in places. A fine early item.

1765 entire to Honfleur, datelined from Cap bearing maritime transit Col Par/ Auray (believed earliest recorded). Charged “16” sol on arrival. A small part of entire has been cut out otherwise fine and attractive.


1767 (3 Juin) entire docketed as written from Saint Marc isle de St Dominigue from a son to his father at Redon, Brittany with two-line French entry COL.N.PAR/ LA ROCHELLE, taxed at 14 sols. Reverse shows “Par le vessau l’Henriette de la Rochelle/ Q.D.G. & P.A B.P.” (Que Dieu Garde & Preserve a Bon Port).
