1873 (24 Oct) cover to Aden, endorsed “Via Brindisi” franked 1871-75 Ceres 25c. pair and 80c. tied gros chiffres ‘549’ with Boulogne-S-Mer cds in association, red framed PD, reverse with French transits and Aden .Steamer.Point arrival cds.


1873 (24th Oct) entire to Genova annotated to be carried by the “Liguria”, this ship had left Buenos Aires on Sept 15th and passed through Gibraltar. The cover has been prepaid in Gibraltar by ½d. and 1d. Great Britain that remained uncancelled and not considered valid by the Italian Post Office who applied a 40c postage due charge. Fine and unusual.

1873 (25 2) insured cover for 30 Thaler bearing single franking Small Shield 5Gr. tied Stargard I. Pomm. Cds, arrival backstamp on next day; some slight faults to envelope with red wax seals removed.


1873 (26 9) envelope to Antwerp, Belgium franked 1870-74 20r.(2, one defective) and 80r. tied by barred ‘1’ of Lisbon whose oval cancel appears at top alongside red framed P.D., reverse with Portugal Midi II cds and arrival cancel; some slight wrinkling.

1873 (3 Dec) entire from Lisbon to Bordeaux with ship endorsement at top that has been amended to be carried on the “Senegal” and bearing scarce French maritime Lisbonne Paq. Fr. J. No.3, handstamp ‘6’ rate marking, arrival backstamp; a fine example of this scarce cds.

1873 (JA 7) envelope to London bearing 4th Setting, type B, perf 10 XXIV Cents tied by Georgetown duplex, arrival cds to left in red of JA 29; good relatively clean condition.


1873 5Kr. postal stationery envelope cancelled Bellovar date stamp and registered to Vienna by addition of two further 5Kr. on reverse and similarly cancelled.

1873 envelope to Antwerp, Belgium franked 3k (vertically laid paper) and 5k. and 20k. tied by Riga date stamp, rated “3” decimes on arrival and with Anvers arrival cds on reverse.

1873 outer letter sheet to Cadiz franked 50c. tied by Habana cds, Santiago De Cuba company chop at left, endorsed at top "pr vapor Correo", arrival backstamp.

1873 outer letter sheet to Livorno franked two 30c. ‘Ceres’ tied gros chiffres ‘5905’ with Salonique Turquie cds in association, framed PD at base and with straight-line ‘Col Postali Francesi’ handstamp, reverse with Napoli transit and arrival cds.


1873 stampless outer letter sheet to Genova bearing Buenos Aires company handstamp, rate handstamp '10' and framed 'F.*56' acountancy, somewhat unclear French octagonal maritime Buenos Aires date stamp, reverse with Paris transit and upon arrival 1L. Postage due applied and tied cds; fine condition.
