1878 (7 Janv) mourning envelope to Scheibenhardt, Alsace, Germany bearing three-colour franking 1872-73 General Colony ‘Ceres’ 5c., 10c. and 25c., the latter with small corner fault, otherwise close to large margins, tied by SNG lozenges, St. Louis cds in association, red French maritime cds, endorsed on reverse “Correspondence des armees” and signed. Despite this the cover was prepaid the full 40c. rate as Alsace was now part of Germany and the military rate did not apply. Ex Sacher
1880 (23 Nov.) envelope to Isseredun, France bearing single franking 25c. ultramarine ‘Sage’, close to large margins, tied Fort de France cds with another strike to left and in between red octagonal Col. Fr. Lig.B.Paq.Fr.N2 maritime date stamp for the “Lafayette”. Small part of bottom flap missing otherwise fine and fresh.
1880 (7 Nov) cover to France franked General Colony 15c. ‘Sage’ imperf top marginal, margin bumped at right, tied scarce blue octagonal Corr d’Armee St Louis date stamp, repeated at top with Paq Fr. J. No.5 octagonal date stamp, reverse with Officers signature.
1880s general formula card franked 1881 10c. ‘Commerce’ with Guadeloupe cds, origin and date not visible, sent to Pointe A Pitre.
1881 (7 Sept) cover to Verviers franked General Colony 15c. tied scarce blue octagonal Corr d’Armee St Louis date stamp showing inverted month within cancel, reverse with Officers signature and maritime Corr. D. Arm. Lig.J Paq. Fr. No.6 plus arrival cancels.

1894 (SP 11) registered cover to Luton franked British Protectorate/ Oil Rivers 1892-94 Great Britain oveprinted Jubilee 2d. together with 1d. lilac, both diagonal bisects, plus 1894 1d. and 2d. tied by three square circle Bonny date stamps. A fine, rare double bisect cover.
1894 stampless envelope from London Post Office addressed ‘Bulletin de Verification/ pour/ “Tahiti”, red oval despatch date stamp, San Francisco transit registration label top left, reverse with New York transit and Papeete arrival backstamp. Fine and unusual.

D’Armees Noumea cds with another fine strike alongside, front and back with violet Colonies Francais Nlle Caledonie/ SERVICE DE SANTE, the one on reverse with manuscript endorsement and signature above. Also showing the rare French Packet Line T transit in red Cor.D.Armees Paq.Fr.T No4; light horizontal filing crease and slight envelope faults not detracting.
1895 registered ‘Myerscough’ cover to London franked front and back with fourteen 1/2d. Including a plate marginal tied Antigua cds, arrival cancel on front; envelope damaged at bottom right, opened-out for display.
