
1952 (26.8.) incoming airmail cover from Pondicherry, India under-franked at 10a rate so large circular framed ‘T’ handstamp applied with manuscript “32c” alongside and franked 1923-29 5f. violet and 1945-50 30f. blue tied by Tunis Arrivee cds

1952 (AU 9) envelope to “The Creek, Cayman Brac” , endorsed “Via S.S. Caymania” bearing single franking 2½d. bright blue with circular framed ‘T’ handstamp, to left good The Creek cds; fine condition.

1952 hand-painted 3c. Harper Map working proof in violet and blue. The two busts at top not complete, the right-hand one similar to issued stamp, the one at left at a very different angle, a few manuscript annotations; fine and unusual.

1953 'Certificate of Posting' form for registered item to Cornwall, England, cancelled 'HARGEISA G.P.O.' cds; good quality.

1953 cover to Grabill, Indiana, USA with franking including two 10g. '50th Anniversary of Capture of Riyadh' tied by two Dahran cds with parts of each obliterated with extra ink.


1954 registered postal stationery envelope to Bombay additionally franked on reverse with 1a., 2a., 8a. and 2 x 1r. tied "INDIAN EMBASSY NEPAL" cds, handstamped registration label on front together with six wax seals.

1955 Postal Fiscal ‘Thunderbolt’ 8 (=2 0r 5.) orange in complete sheet of 50 fine mint never hinged.

1959 illustrated airmail cover from ‘Comite National/ Olympique Iranien/ Tehran’ registered to ‘Federation Suisse Des Sports’, Lausanne, Switzerland. Fine and scarce.



1965 and 1966 Birds sets of four with 59 imperf colour progressive proofs on Courvoisier archive pages, dated 1964, some duplication to fill pages maybe. These pages are unique as are the stamps.


1979 Shaikh Khalifa imperf values (12 out of the 13 issued stamps) on special individual presentation cards, imperf and overprinted SPECIMEN. Prepared for 1979 Rio de Janeiro UPU Conference, 10 sets were produced.


5pf Germania card entitled “Manzell” showing an artists impression of the Zeppelin, used Riesa 11.7.13. Card inscribed ‘Luftschiff – Postkarte’, fine condition.

A truncated 1874 front addressed to Paris bearing a corner marginal strip of Ceres 15c. tied by MQE lozenges, origination in the small village of St Marie and sent with blue Martinique Ajoupa cds, endorsed “Voie anglaise” and would have been collected by Shannon on 14th except it was wrecked on the 8th so would have been carried to Plymouth by Nile. ACORES: 1886 (Aug 29): Stampless envelope to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with large oval "CORRELO DA HORTA" datestamp, circular-framed 'T' handstamp and octagonal "300 Rs" Charge handstamp in violet applied on arrival, LISBOA transit and arrival backstamps (Sept 24). Cover opened out for display.


ADEN: 1883 (Oct 7): 'The Eastern Telegraph Company' printed Telegram envelope sent registered to Mauritius bearing mixed issue franking of India 1865 2 a. brown-orange and 1882/90 3 a. brown-orange with two 'B' within bars obliterators, ADEN cds to left and four-lined dated Registration handstamp, 'R' in circle bottom right and to left red oval "REGISTERED MAURITIUS" datestamp (Oct 18). The envelope has had a new corner added at bottom right and peripheral edge faults at top, still an attractive and scarce item. SG Z30 + Z51


ADEN: 1908 (Feb 12): Value Declared registered cover to London, endorsed "Insurance £45 fourty five pounds only" franked KEVII 2 a., 12 a. and 1 r. tied by unclear cds's, blue manuscript registration number of Indian Sea Post Office, red on yellow "Valeur declaree" label, reverse with wax seals and arrival cancel. ADEN: 1911 (28 IX) Postcard from Egypt to India, Egyptian stamp posted on picture side, with tax mark on reverse with boxed ‘T’ and manuscript ‘05’ in blue, further handstamped horseshoe ADEN SEA POST OFFICE DUE 1/2 ANNA, believed to be unique.


ADEN: 1926 (15 De) Long registered India 1a. + 2a. India Postal Stationery envelope to Germany uprated 1a. (2) + 60 tied by Aden Camp cds with matching registration label, pink ‘declaree / declared’ label alongside, Altenburg arrival backstamp, wax seals applied, light vertical central fold and some defects where opened. Manuscript ‘Insured for £10’.


ADEN: 1934 (Oct 3): Registered 1 a. + 3 p. stationery envelope uprated KGV 9 p. + 2 a 6 p. (2) tied by "ADEN REG." double cds, Insured for £1 with two different Insured labels, London arrival backstamp, fine and full of character. SG Z122 + Z147


ADEN: Forwarding Agents at Aden, 1859 (Jan 26): Cover from Boston to "Passenger Overland / Post Office. Aden.", red "BOSTON PAID" cds, carried by British Packet at 39 c. rate on Cunard "Niagara", LONDON transit. Manuscript endorsement "N. J. Kindman's complis / Aden May 23rd 1859" for forwarding mails to Penang, a manuscript arrival endorsement on reverse.

After WW2, the Netherlands were given permission to establish a post office in ‘Beatrix Kamp’, Singapore, where ex-Dutch POW’s of the Japanese were housed following their release. This cover dated 13 MAR 1946 airmail to Leiden, showing the K 10 Gr handstamp applied to show under 10gr and thus available for free postage, Netherlands Postoffice Singapore cds.
