
1902 (31/3) 5pf ‘1900’ stationery card uprated 5pf. to Hong Kong cancelled Deutsch-Nettkow cds with two Victoria Hong Kong cancels, the card bears an endorsement that the addressee was travelling to Adelaide, Australia and Pretoria, Transvaal, Adelaide cds bottom left overstruck by bold Pretoria cds, repeated at right, Return Letter Office Johannesburg cds, returned and redirected to Clettwitz with final arrival of 30/12 02. Various instructional handstamps, not all clear.


1902 (4 Sep) registered cover to Hanoi bearing combination franking with coiling Dragons 10c. on front and, on reverse 1c. (4) and 2c. each tied by Lungchow cds, together with Indo China 40c. tied double-ring Lannkchow cds with another clearer strike alongside, very fine Chinese registration handstamp top left. Envelope opened-out for display, a fine and scarce cover.

1902 (AP 25) cover to Newark, NJ, U.S.A. franked ‘Tall Ships’ ½d., 1d. and 2d. in horizontal pairs cancelled with unclear obliterators, Turks Island cds in association, New York transit and arrival backstamp; vertical crease at left side. First issue cover.


1902 (April) 4d registered stationery envelope, size H2, additionally franked 2½d. King George II tied by unclear cds, addressed to New York, reverse with Registered Auckland transit 3 May, various Dead Letter Office and other instructional handstamps of New York, fine violet Dead Letter Office N.Z. cds on return.

1902 (AU 11) local cover franked ‘One Penny’ on 7d. tied neat cds of first day of issue; fine condition


1902 (FE 15) envelope to Chicago underfranked with 1895-99 ½d. vertical strip of three tied by three Grenada D date stamps, reverse with St Georges cds and Chicago arrival (Mar 4), obverse shows partly visible ‘T’ handstamp, COLLECT POSTAGE 4 CENTS handstamp and a pair of 2c postage due applied. Ex D Walker.


1902 (Feb. 28) registered envelope from the German Consulate in Canton to Berlin, “Kaiserlich Deutsches Konsulat/in Canton” paper seal on flap, bearing C.I.P. 5c salmon vertical pair, cancelled by R unframed handstamps, and 10c (3), cancelled by Canton bilingual cds, in combination with Hong Kong Chinese character surcharge 20c on 30c pair with I.P.O. framed tie-print (type 2) and Registered G.P.O. cds; the 5c. slightly oxidised and a few tones at left.


1902 (MR 13) 2½d. postal stationery envelope registered and uprated with ½d., 2½d. and 1/- ‘Madonna’ to Berlin tied TORTOLA cds, black ‘R’ in oval handstamp with blue crayon manuscript number which is overstruck with blue Danish West Indies registration handstamp with black manuscript number, St Thomas transit backstamp and arrival cds (9/4)


1902 (MR 25) On His Majesty's Service printed registered envelope to USA franked 1/2d pair + 1d + 3d + 4d tied by Castries cds with New York transit backstamp, written from P.O. St Lucia, very fine
