(East Africa) 1912 photographic hunting postcard franked 4h. tied Iringa DOA cds, to Horde, Germany where straight-line ‘In Horde nicht ermittelt’ handstamp applied and signed, Hordel? added in same pencil as possible alternative; unusual.
(Post Offices in China) 1918 (JA 1) cover to St Albans, England bearing single franking 10c. tied somewhat unclear Shanghai cds, below this two-line RECEIVED AT LIVERPOOL/ DAMAGED BY SEAWATER; envelope with large tear at left side and some other peripheral faults. A rare item, Hopkins records a piece of similar date but not a cover.

(Transvaal) 1897 (16 Jun) cover to Netherland Indies franked 1896-97 ½d. and vertical pair 1d. tied Pretoria cds which is repeated on reverse, Padang square circles of 8/8 and Weltevreden of 12/8, the cover being returned with framed VERTROKKEN/ PARTI handstamp and redirected to Netherlands with oval blue handstamp on front, reverse with Marseille transit and arrival cds of 26 Oct.
1865 (FE 28) cover to Reading, underfranked with Great Britain 1862-64 6d. tied A26 obliterator. Underfranked with fine example of Insufficiently Prepaid handstamp, manuscript “Deficient postage 6d/ fine 6d” and ‘1/-‘ handstamp at right. The Insufficient handstamp had just been delivered to the Gibraltar Post Office in January 1865.

1891 3m. on 5m. postal stationery card with a range of instructional hand stamps and cancellations of Samanoud including three negative handstamps and a Samanoud Caisse cds, Registration and T handstamps, AR and Return cancels. Very fine and unusual.
1894 (Abr 2) cover to Bruxelles, Belgium franked 1893 5c. and 40c. tied by violet circular negative ‘star’ in violet and 40c. additionally by red London cds (of return journey), oval Republique de Honduras/ Bureau/ Postal D’Exchange/ PUERTO CORTEZ dated cachet, undelivered with a fine range of instructional handstamps ‘retour a l’auteur’, ‘REBUT’ on front and on reverse framed ‘PARTI/ Vertrokken’ and manuscript “Parti sans laisser l’addresse/ Le factuer” and signed by him, Bruxelles 1 and 5 cancels of 22 Avril, Bruxelles 1 new despatch of 24th, New York cancels of outward journey, red ‘3’ handstamp applied on arrival back.
1895 (DE 31) cover from BUSHIRE to Cairo franked on reverse by India 1892-96 2a.6p. yellow-green tied by fine large part strike of type Z16 ("C14") "BUSHIRE" squared circle (still clearly showing "E" complete) with two strikes of boxed "TOO LATE" above (applied at the Bushire P.O.). Bold "SUEZ" (27 1 96) and "CAIRE" (28 1 96) transit and arrival cds alongside. Some cover creases but desirable with the "TOO LATE" marking.
1895 registered cover to Kings Lynn, Norfolk bearing single franking 30c. tied cds of uncertain index letter, circular framed registration to left, endorsed “Per French Mail”. Fine ‘Not to be found/ 48’S’ stepped handstamp and violet London cancel.
