1767 (3 Juin) entire docketed as written from Saint Marc isle de St Dominigue from a son to his father at Redon, Brittany with two-line French entry COL.N.PAR/ LA ROCHELLE, taxed at 14 sols. Reverse shows “Par le vessau l’Henriette de la Rochelle/ Q.D.G. & P.A B.P.” (Que Dieu Garde & Preserve a Bon Port).

1767 folded entire from Smyrne, forwarded at Salonique by "Tavernier" (recorded by Rowe in 1767 only), held for three weeks and then sent to Naples where disinfected, a yellow cursive 'SALONICO' applied in transit at Rome by the Neapolitan Post Office; a rare item.


1768 thick entire with wine order to Madeira, date-lined as written from St Eustatia, carried privately without postal cancels; entire with faults with the right hand panel detached from the rest of entire; a rare early item.

1786 entire from Faro to Gand, Belgium sent via the Spanish Postal Agent in Cadiz and struck with the straight-line PORTUGAL handstamp, manuscript "13" rate mark. An early example of this rare marking and believed to be the only recorded example on a letter written outside of Lisbon.
