
1848 miniature entire written from VESCOVO (Florence) to MARDIN (Kurdistan - now S.E. Turkey). The entire is written in arabic and has manuscript arrival notation. A very unusual and rare entire.

1848 part entire to Corrientes bearing small “2” in manuscript and red oval-framed Benta Gral/ De Correos/ De Buenos-Ayres, central vertical filing crease. There is a two-line endorsement at top that translates as ‘Long Live the Argentine Confederation! Death to the savage Unitarians!’


1848, 30kop red stationery envelope (140x116mm) with narrow tail eagle -WMK 1. Watermark i (position 4) where the location of the orb and scepter are in correct positions AS SEEN FROM THE FRONT OR ADDRESS SIDE. On the envelope (scepter to the left, orb to the right) from the way they appear in the actual coat of arms. Watermark positions referred to here are from the Faberge System of 8 positions. Cert. 1849 (MY 8) envelope to London bearing fine strike of ‘s 1/-‘ accountancy handstamp (Proud A16), reverse with Kingston Jamaica double arc date stamp without index letter.

1849 King Leopold I0c brown horizontal pair, margin or right-hand stamp touched at base, otherwise clear. The left hand stamp shows doubling around the ‘0’ of ‘10’.


1849 outer letter sheet to Finland sent unpaid via Hamburg, showing various manuscript rate markings and a framed Obetalt.FR./ Dannemark/ H.Borg 17 Aug 49 handstamp, reverse with Copenhagen despatch and Stockholm transit; fine condition.

1849 outer letter sheet to RIGA bearing fine oval 'POST: NEUER MUEHLEN/18' date stamp with day, month and balance of year applied in manuscript, arrival backstamp; fine condition.

184? Outer letter sheet to Habana with red Guines Isla De Cuba and handstamped ‘1 ½ ‘ at centre, reverse with manuscript “De oficio” and signature endorsement.

1850s large part outer letter sheet to Libau franked Russia 10kop. with close margins tied '235' dotted lozenge, sideflap with bilingual Windau despatch cds. Fine early example of first stamp of Russia used in Latvia.

1850s outer letter sheet to Brod franked 1k citron yellow, type III, four good margins, tied 'WIEN' cds, arrival backstamp. Fine and clean condition, with certificate.

1850s small piece bearing five examples of 30c brown, type III, each with good margins and cancelled by three two-line SONDRIO date stamps; initialled AD, fine condition.

1851 (14 Mai) mourning cover to England franked horizontal pair of 1849-50 40c. with close to good margins all round cancelled by two grille handstamps and British Paid cds, Boulogne S Mer cds at left, arrival backstamp; some very slight toning but still a fine and attractive first issues cover.

1851 (23 Juil) entire to Baltimore franked 1849-50 Ceres 25c. horizontal pair (small fault bottom right corner) and 1f. with four large margins tied by ‘roller grill’, Paris cds in association at right, red framed PD and BR PACKET ‘5’ BOSTON date stamp at centre, annotated “by/ steamer/ from Liverpool”; a small closed tear runs down through to 'C' of 'Franc' on the 1f. an attractive first issue transatlantic cover.
