1871 printed entire to Dax franked 1863-71 Laureated Napoleon 1c. and pair 2c. plus Ceres 20c. cancelled gros chiffres ‘532’ with Bordeaux cds in association. Trimmed perfs to 25c. and vertical creasing to entire, still an attractive three colour franking with some creases clear of stamps.


1871 registered outer letter sheet to Pernau franked North German Confederation 1g. (with faults) tied Breslau (Vroclav, Poland) despatch date stamp, reverse with Riga transit and fine example of Latvian Post Office oval control handstamp in blue, Pernau arrival.

1872 (11 Feb) registered outer letter sheet to Frankfurt bearing Small Shield 3Kr. and 7Kr. tied Mannheim cds, red Charge handstamp, arrival backstamp of next day.
