Rufino Barrios 25c on 1p. with blue cork cancel, at left framed datestamp in same colour and a registration handstamp with various erased manuscript numbers, the envelope with handstamp endorsement ‘Por via LIVINGSTON’, reverse with Boston transit and arrival cds. Some slight grubbiness, scarce commercial item.

1886 (AP 23) ‘On Her Majesty’s Service’ envelope sent to the Governor of Mauritius at Le Reduit, franked with Mauritius 4d carmine pair cancelled B64 single obliterator, Seychelles cds to left, arrival backstamp of April 29th. Rated 8c for local and Mauritius letters. Horizontal bend along top of envelope and stamps, still a good commercial usage.

1886 (JU 23) cover to Leipzig, franked five 1d lilacs together with 1883 1½d. and 6d. tied by London W.C.13 duplex, small peripheral cover faults.

1886 (JY 22) registred cover to London franked 'One Penny' on 6d. (10) and '4d' on 6d. (4) each tied by 'A21' obliterator, St Kitts cds and framed R, London registered date stamps also on front. This 1/10d. pays the registered overseas rate for under 2.5 oz. Possibly largest known usage with these stamps; some slight faults as usual with a larger cover.


1886 (May 18) cover to Zurich, Switzerland endorsed “via Livingston y New Orleans” and franked four 1881 5c. Quetzal, three cancelled with cork handstamp and one by CORREOS GUATEMALA ‘star’ duplex, reverse with New Orleans and New York transits, Neumunster arrival cds.


1886 (May 30) registered yellow envelope to Leipzig bearing single franking 1886 Pres. Rufino Barrios 25c on 1p. tied framed datestamp and a registration handstamp with manuscript number, the envelope with handstamp endorsement ‘Por via LIVINGSTON’, partly overstruck with New York transit registration label with transit cds on reverse together with arrival cds.


1886 (MR 5) 1d. pink stationery envelope uprated 1883-84 5d. green to British Legation, Pekin, China cancelled London S.W. ‘22’ duplex, reverse with Singapore/ B/ Hong Kong marine sorter. Without further cancels indicating carriage by diplomatic bag from Hong Kong; good condition.

1886 1 1/2d. postal stationery card to Bridye Town, Post Office, Barbados cancelled 'Bristol 134' duplex. Redirected on arrival bearing 'Barbados Ship Letter', red Ship Letter London and Hallatrow arrival cds, arriving without any extra charge.175

1886 cover to Bombay franked on reverse India 1a. 6p. horizontal strip of four tied Aden square circles, envelope endorsed “pr Ravena”, reverse with SEA POST OFFICE index A cds and Bombay arrival.


1886 cover to Pikesville, Maryland, USA bearing single franking 4d. deep yellow tied by ‘B’ obliterator, reverse with B/Bahamas cds and New York ‘opera glasses’ transit.

1886 cover to Wimbledon, franked vertical strip of three '40 paras' on 2 1/2d. lilac, GB-IB, tied barred oval 'C' with a black British Post Office Constantinople code A cds on reverse which is overstruck by the arrival.


1886 Great Britain 1d. stationery card to Sarajevo, Bosnia cancelled by ‘C’ obliterator, reverse with British Post Office Constantinople index A cds and an arrival cancel. Good condition.


1886 outer letter sheet to Castelbaldo bearing fine strike of Municipio Di Boara Pisani official cachet and smaller double-ring Boara Pisani hanstamp, franked pair 1c. tied Stanghella date stamp, arrival backstamp; som slight stains, good quality cancels.


1886 part cover to London bearing single franking 4d on 6d. green (SG 25) tied by ‘A12’ obliterator with St Kitts cds in association at top, London arrival backstamp. Part of the address has been cut out and there is a tear on front. A rare stamp on cover.

1887 (13 Dec) 2c. postal stationery card to Paris, cancelled oval-framed FRANCA in violet with Correos Puerto Plata date stamp in association, at right part red French maritime UNION cds of 4 Janv. Fine condition.

1887 (16.XI.) local Kaiserstuhl ‘CHARGE printed document franked ‘Standing Helvetia’ 20c and 15c. Numeral plus local Canton Aargau 10c tax stamp, tied by three cds; a couple of tones.

1887 (25.II) printed envelope to New York franked 1879-89 1c. and pair of 5c. Volcano tied by negative cork ‘star’ with Correos La Union also tying pair, reverse with ‘opera glasses’ arrival; vertical filing crease.

1887 (4 Jun) 3c. stationery card to Puerto Cabello, Venezuela with bottom left blue despatch cds of San Salvador, images both cancelled by Transito Panama transit cancels; some slight toning but still an attractive item.
